On every Thursday in January, head to Peace of Mind in nearby Compton for live music and drinks. In addition to the house band led by @Marwan.music, this event will bring in different local performers rah week. In addition, art will be on display and for sale from local artisans, and music and drinks available for purchase.
2. VomFASS Private Tasting Experience
Are you a wine connoisseur? Head to Huntington Beach near Santa Anna for an exclusive private in-store tasting experience at vomFASS. This ticketed event is available on Fridays in January. Attendees can book the entire store for a private wine tasting with their friends after store hours. In addition to a customized tasting experience, they will enjoy a charcuterie plate to go with their beverages.
3. Metal Mayhem Pandemic Unleashed
Have you been missing live music performances? Then make plans to head to Metal Mayhem in January. This concert brings in six bands for a live performance in Santa Ana. It is for the 21 and over crowd and will include food and drinks. Metal Mayhem will be hosted at Malone’s on Saturday, January 30th.
Open-air markets are the perfect way to explore the offerings of locals while staying pandemic safe, and the Westminster Mall is hosting one on Sunday, January 17 from 10:00 to 4:00. In the JC Penney’s parking lot you can explore crafting, collections, and artwork from local artists, all while hearing live music and taking part in food from local food trucks. The event is completely free and is hosted every third Sunday throughout the year, but make sure to bring your money for your shopping choices.
5. Happy Feet at the Roadium Drive-In
Take a step back in time and head to the Roadium Open Air Market in Torrance, a 1950’s era drive-in theater, to see Happy Feet. This single night showing of the penguin-themed animated classic will show on Friday, January 8 starting at 6. For $30 you can bring your entire vehicle in. The show itself starts at 7, but arrive early to get a good spot.
