Main Street Village – Santa Ana’s Must-Visit Farmer’s Markets

  |     |   Things to Do

California is renowned for its abundant farmers markets, offering locally grown, farm-fresh produce as well as artisan foods and crafts. Santa Ana and the surrounding Orange County area are home to plenty of these unique markets.

Downtown Santa Ana Farmers Market

Also called the DTSA Farmers Market, this market is a small group of vendors that open every Tuesday during the growing season. This family-friendly market has a small number of vendors, usually around five to 10, and offers traditional fare as well as food from local chefs and cooks. It's open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and deliveries are also available. It's located at 32 and Bush, Santa Ana, CA.

Mile Square Park Certified Farmers Market

The Miles Square Park Farmers Market is operated by the Orange County Farm Bureau. All the farmers are certified, meaning the county board confirms that the vendors grow the food they sell. This market is open on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., regardless of the weather. It's located at 16801 Euclid St, Fountain Valley, CA, about 15 minutes away from Main Street Village apartments by car.

SOCO Farmers Market

The SOCO Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and like the Miles Square Park Certified Farmers Market, it operates rain or shine. Its fare consists of free-range meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and eggs. There are also specialty foods, exotic fruits, and a crafts area for kids. They offer a monthly newsletter to help locals stay up-to-date with events at the market and with the vendors. It's located at 3315 Hyland Ave, Costa Mesa, CA. It's about seven miles from Santa Ana.

Garden Grove Farmers Market

The Garden Grove Farmers Market closes Garden Grove's Main Street every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to give locals a chance to sample what the area's vendors have to offer, including fruits, vegetables, and Asian produce. The market stretches between Acacia Parkway and Garden Grove Boulevard, located at 12976 Main Street, Garden Grove, CA. It's a little over six miles from the heart of Santa Ana.

Whether you're looking for a fun and safe outdoor activity after a day spent at home or looking to expand your palate, Santa Ana's farmers markets offer something for everyone.
