Surfing is one of the most instantly recognizable pastimes of SoCal. We are, after all, the home of the Beach Boys! We are also home to Surf City, USA. You might say surfing is in our blood. So when you get the urge to grab some timber and catch an epic wave, try one of these OC beaches. Hang loose!

The Wedge, Balboa Peninsula

When you are ready for some seriously powerful surf, head to The Wedge on Balboa Peninsula. This area is more popular with body boarders because of the massive waves that can reach as high as 30 feet. If you want to check the surf conditions before you head out, you can use the surf cam online.

Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach is officially Surf City, USA. It is one of the most famous and popular beaches to hit the waves in the country. The surf near Huntington Beach Pier is legendary. On a nice day, the water can get a little crowded, so be sure to wait for the perfect curl and don’t snake anyone’s wave. When you get tired, head up to Ruby’s Diner and enjoy a tasty meal in a fun 1940s diner atmosphere!

Trestles

Trestles is where you go for serious surf action. This beach at the very southern tip of Orange County boasts some of the best waves in California. For years, professional surfing tournaments were held here. It even made an appearance in the Beach Boys classic Surfin’ U.S.A.! Grab a buddy and hang ten at one of the most righteous surf spots around.
